HEARING TESTING

Diagnosing a hearing loss and its root cause is no small matter as it takes detailed investigations of our entire auditory system. We are equipped with state of the art facilities to provide in depth hearing evaluations for children and adults.
Pure Tone Audiometry -PTA

Pure Tone Audiometry -PTA

One of the most essential tests recommended most often by ENT surgeons. Helps to identify where the problem is (outer and/or middle ear or inner ear) and how much of a problem is present. It assesses your hearing levels at each frequency that is what the minimum hearing levels is at each frequency.

SISI

SISI

SISI can be used to differentiate cochlear and retro cochlear pathologies. A phenomenon named "recruitment"is often seen in patients with cochlear hearing loss and therefore will be able to detect the 1dB loudness increments in the tone.

Masking Level Difference

Masking Level Difference

This test aims to evaluate central auditory function and is specifically sensitive to brain stem lesions. This tests the improvement in the detection of a tone in noise when the phase of the noise or tone is reversed by 180 degrees.

High Frequency Audiometry

High Frequency Audiometry

In Pure Tone Audiometry we only check up to 8000Hz. High frequency audiometry tests up to 20,000Hz and is a good early indicator of hearing loss caused by certain types of medication and noise.

Speech Audiometry

Speech Audiometry

Although PTA can assess your hearing levels, it does not identify how well you are able to identify speech. Speech audiometry is able to tell us how your hearing loss has affected your speech understanding and could be a predictor as to how much a hearing aid will help you.

TYMPANOMETRY

TYMPANOMETRY

This is used to assess the status of your middle ear. If a problem is the middle ear is indicated in your PTA, then a tympanogram helps us to identify what kind of a middle ear problem you have

Wide Band Tympanometry

Wide Band Tympanometry

Unlike conventional tympanometry, this gives us more information across a wide frequency range which makes it easier to diagnose the middle ear condition.

Real Ear Measurements (REM)

Real Ear Measurements (REM)

Whether sufficient amplification is given to the ear after a hearing aid is fitted often go un- checked. Especially in young children who cannot express whether they are hearing or not. So, Real ear measurements are used as a hearing aid fitting verification tool.
